Susan Quarne - Publisher (e-mail)

Susan Quarne, publisher, has been involved with Cheese Market News since she helped launch the newspaper back in March of 1981. She oversees all advertising, marketing, circulation and promotion as well as the overall direction of the publication.

Her presence on staff, proven leadership in the industry and continued dedication to making Cheese Market News the best newspaper it can be is evident in each and every issue.

Susan's background in business coupled with her enthusiastic approach to helping grow the cheese industry makes Cheese Market News your publication of choice for the new millennium.

Kate Sander - Editorial Director (e-mail)

Kate Sander, editorial director, has more than a decade of experience with Cheese Market News. As editorial director, she edits articles and guides the overall direction of news coverage as well as writes special features. Kate is committed to bringing CMN's readers analytical and investigative news coverage each week. Raised on a dairy farm in Oregon, Kate also brings to the paper a lifelong interest in all aspects of the dairy industry. Kate is a graduate of the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a degree in journalism.

Alyssa Sowerwine - Senior Editor (e-mail)

Alyssa Sowerwine, CMN’s senior editor, oversees the daily operations of the editorial office, including editing, layout and market reporting. She also writes original articles and special features. Alyssa has a degree in news editing from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University. While there, she worked as a reporter and copy editor on the campus newspaper. Post-college, she worked for a year at The Gazette, a group of community newspapers in Gaithersburg, Md., doing layout and copy editing. She also worked as a copy editor for the news department of the Advisory Board Company, a health care strategy firm in Washington, D.C., for two years prior to beginning her career at CMN in 2008.

Rena Archwamety - News/Web Editor (e-mail)

Rena Archwamety joined the CMN staff in May 2007. As news/web editor, she researches and writes stories, prepares statistical charts, keeps the events calendar current and assists with the layout process. Rena received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Carleton College in 2002 and a master's degree in journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2004. To date, she has been writing freelance articles for both local and national publications.

Aaron Martin - News Editor (e-mail)

Aaron Martin, news editor, spent more than five years producing news coverage for print and online publications across Wisconsin as a reporter for Capital Newspapers and Journal Communications before joining Cheese Market News in January 2012. He grew up on a farm just outside of Cambridge, Wis., and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with bachelor's degrees in Journalism and English in 2006. Aaron draws from his agricultural and journalistic backgrounds as he writes news stories and assists in the editing and design process at Cheese Market News.
